upgrading

The first rule of upgrading is: is it worth it? We can advise on the potential benefits of upgrading against the maximum capabilities of your machine.

For example, you can upgrade an iBook G4, iMac G4 or PowerMac G4 with large hard drives and maximum RAM but they will never run websites such as youtube.com or the BBC iPlayer satisfactorily.

A first generation Intel iMac running with 1GB RAM and Mac OS 10.4 can easily be upgraded with 2-3GB of RAM, a massive 2TB hard drive and Apple’s latest Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard, making it a fully functional and capable computer all for a fraction of the cost of a new computer.
